Jenman Taunts Estate Agents To Sue
Journalist Peter Gregory The Age (Saturday 9 February, 2008) reports that Melbourne real estate agent Paul Castran, managing director of Castran GilbertReal Estate, and the company’s sale director Mark Forytarz, annoyed by allegedly defamatory articles by consumer advocate Neil Jenman, are taking legal action against Google to stop internet access to the articles.
According to the article,
“The allegations are contained in two articles from Mr Jenman’s website, which could be seen when the agents’ names were entered on internet search engine Google.
A Supreme Court statement of claim lodged in December said they sought action by Google to remove access to the articles, but it was not done.”
Asks Neil Jenman,
“Why wouldn’t they attack the person who is making the comments about them?…Here’s my chest. Come on, take a shot at me.”
It seems strange that no action is taken against Neil Jenman, when a simple search on the names Paul Castran and Mark Forytarz in the Jenman website reveal the articles in full.

This illustrates the intellectual capacity of some real estate agents.
And it brings me feelings of glee and hilarity as to the trouble and strife in store for these individuals who are literally buying themselves into litigation with Google.
What is particularly amusing is that a search on Google for the names of these guys brings up a message stating:
“In response to a legal request submitted to Google, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read more about the request at ChillingEffects.org.”
And above the message is a growing list of references to the fact that these guys are desperately attemping to have their names taken off Google!
They’ve generated more interest in the Jenman articles that anyone could ever have imagined.
I have now been informed that Mark Forytarz is a former State President of the Liberal Party. Perhaps the Liberal party is scratching around again for numbers, and has told Forytarz to clean up his image.
No political party wants its members branded as dodgy, and perhaps Forytarz is perceived as carrying too much baggage through the Google checkpoint.
Seems that everyone is having a laugh at these clowns – See http://members.optusnet.com.au/stevet015/web/2008/02/dumbest-lawsuit-ever.html
Please please please link this story to DIGG to teach these muppets a lesson.
The original from The Age has already been Dugg.
Dear Sir,
Please allow me to correct you Forytarz was never state president of the Liberal Party. He is a past president of the Young Liberals. Those of us who knew him would much prefer to refer to him in the past tense.
This is an interesting story that’s making the papers in the UK
Don’t believe everything a real estate agent tells you – especially if they say they are Jenman trained and the agency they work for is Jenman approved.
We learnt the hard way – see blog.
