Section 27 Deposit Release – What Nonsense!

Section 27 of the Sale of Land Act is a piece of nonsense legislation and Victoria is the only state in Australia to have such a silly provision. It’s relied upon by real estate agents to have their commission paid early, and is a catalyst for misery as real estate agents promise vendors that the deposit will be released early, and harass purchasers and their legal representatives when it is not.
